Coral Sands Seaside Park Campground Daytona

It's that time of the year again for us to start planning where we are going to stay for my daughter's national dance competition. This year we will be in Daytona Beach. We would like to find a place that is close to the beach and venue. The venue will be at the Ocean Center. I have found some campgrounds that are 10 to 15 min inland, but I did come across Seaside Park Campground. It is on the beach and just up the road from the venue. I would like to know if anyone has had any experience with this campground and what you think of it. We will be there in late June.
Thanks,
Andy

Planning Daytona Beach June 2009

Hi all,
I just found out last week that my daughter's national dance competition for 2009 will be in Daytona Beach. We always take the TT rather than stay in hotels or condos. We would like to know of any nice and affordable campgrounds around Daytona Beach that also allow pets.
I am looking forward to find out what all of you suggest.
Thanks,
Andy

RE: Favorite feature on your TT and why

On our TT we like the back door. It's on the opposite side of the camper next to the slide. Love it.

110v Outlets at Myrtle Beach Convention Center

I have a simple question that I hope someone can help me out with. We will be going down to Myrtle Beach (30th - 5th). We are staying at Lakewood. My daughter is completing in a National Dance competition during our stay. She may have to dance on the finals which in also the day we are to check out of Lakewood. My question is, does anyone know if there are any 110v outlets in the parking lot, maybe around the landscaping? I ask this because I do not have a generator and I will have two dogs that will have to stay in the TT while we are in the competition.
Thanks,
Andy

RE: Help am I being SOLD!!!

Forget the dry weight unless you plan to always use the trailer totally empty.
Even with the 3.92 axle, the 4.7 will be hurting to pull much. I had a Ram 1500 with the 3.55 and 4.7L and it was a gutless gas hog.
Ken
I had an '03 1500 w/4.7 under the hood and a light weight hybrid. Everything was fine unless I hit some hills or the mountains in KY, TN, NC, SC, VA, WV, just about everywhere we wanted to go. As you can see we upgraded the TV and TT.

Tub/shower Splash Guards

I am looking for some splash guards to install on my tub/shower. When we use the shower water always travels along the side and down the outside of the tub and all over the floor. I have found them on Amazon, but I would like to know if any name brand hardware stores sell these. The shipping cost is more than the product itself.

RE: Using 6" Hitch Extension

If you have a weight distribution hitch, this might do. Also available in extra (single)long and 4" drop. Since it isn't actually an extension, no de-rating is required.
Thanks for the tip, I'm going to see if I can get one locally, if not I will order from the site.
Thanks,

RE: Using A Hitch Extension

Thanks Phil,
I'll check into this. My WD setup would be able to bolt right up to it.

Using 6" Hitch Extension

I first posted on the Towing forum and was referred to this forum. I just installed an electric jack on my TT and now the tailgate will not go all the way down because it hits the head of the jack. I am contemplating on getting a 6" to 8" extension to solve my clearance problem. I was thinking the TC experts that use extensions can give me some good advice. I have a class IV hitch on the CTD and my TT has a dry weight of about 7000lbs and when I am loaded for travel it is around 8000 to 9000lbs.
What say you about my situation?

RE: Using A Hitch Extension

Peg Leg, I'll look to see if there are any screws. I did try to see if the whole thing would rotate 90 degrees, but the bolt holes would not line up. I'll try your suggestion.

Using A Hitch Extension

I have a bit of a dilemma. I just installed an electric jack (love it), but now I can't lower my tailgate to let the dogs out. I have been looking into a short 6" extension so the tailgate will clear the jack head and lower all the way down. Am I going to run into an problems with just a short extension? I am using a weight distribution setup. My Hornet, I thing fully loaded and ready for bear is about 9,000lbs.

RE: Atlanta area

Here is a possibility. Try Twin Lakes. It is in the Alpharretta area. We stayed there over night last year. Not a bad place for a night or two.

Thanks for all the great ideas. I did find some on Ebay at a very reasonable price. Thanks, and Wally (Jack Russell) and Gretchen (Old Lab) thank you.

RE: Parking the Truck--Anyone else?

As you can see from my signature I too have a bike. I don't get to ride to work that often because it is a 30 mile drive and some mornings I just don't have the &*%'s to suffer the cold. I am ready to park the Ram and get a cheap car to drive to Wilmington and back.

Anybody Use the Portable Exersise Pens?

I was curious to know of anybody that uses the portable exercise kennels that I have seen at Tractor Supply Company and Petsmart? We have an old Lab and a young Jack Russell and would like to use one of these at the campgrounds. Would one be enough or would I have to get two and put them together?
